Beloved,
dear friend, the #1 thing in life is based on relationships.
It's important to ask God for the desire to learn, and educate
ourselves for "relationships" even if your single.
Little foxes have a way of showing up when vineyards are in
their greatest season of blooming. They come to destroy what
has been carefully growing and maturing. That's what happens
in our relationships. Just when Jesus Christ has taken a foothold
in our marriages, in our friendships, in relating with those
at church or leaders, pastors, little things creep up to destroy
what He's built into it. The little things? Sure. It's a lot
easier to decide together on bigger things because of the
impact the eventual decision might have on the marriage. But
what couples battle over most are the little issues: What
color the bathroom should be painted. Where's the best place
to put the computer. Who should wash the dishes.
Are
you allowing the little things to ruin your relationship with
your spouse, relationships at church, home or work beloved?
Notice this: it happens most just when the marriage or relationship
vineyard is blooming. Just when there's excitement and joy
and plenty of love to go around! That's when small issues
make their giant leap into the vineyard seeking to destroy
the joy of marriage, of friendships. You may not have realized
the importance of this before, but it's especially important
to pray when issues are small rather than allow them to become
a hindrance to the marriage to your friendships/relationships.
You mean pray before I suggest to my spouse where I'd like
the computer? It can't hurt…and you'd be surprise how much
it can help! Try it and you'd be amazed at the results.
Prayer
for Couples & Relationships
:: S t e p s ....to
take this week ::
1) Make a list of all those "little foxes", those little issues
that usually end up heating things up in the household
2) Pray with your spouse about both of these lists and ask
God to help you rely on Him when these come into play
3) Put the list inside one of your bibles as a symbolic sign
that "God" has these under His word!
4) Don't point your finger, if God hasn't answered you,
chances are you
need to come clean first before God. Then God can help you,
help him/her.
